Wide view of the present suspension bridge (Joseph Bazalgette’s design, opened 1887) taken from the south-western bank in Barnes. The twin pylons, suspension chains, and wooden deck are clearly visible; the photograph was taken in April 2012 at dusk.

Vertical study of the ironwork from the riverside, July 2022. Commons notes record stabilisation and engineering works in recent years; during the 2022 heatwave, media reported measures to limit stress on the structure. This shot emphasises the scale of the suspension chains and masonry tower.

The annual Oxford–Cambridge Boat Race passes through the long bend at Hammersmith. Crews use a lamppost on the bridge as a key steering landmark (Commons description notes an arrow in the original marking the post). April 2008.
